So i am 14. I love wine, and beer is okay. I dont want to become an alchohalic in highschool because i will be playing tons of sports and there are major consequences if your caught drinking especially if you play sports. I know i wont be able to resist a beer if i’m offered it in high school so how can i drink but keep from becoming too heavy of a drinker?
Also how old were you wen you had your first beer? or any kind of alchohalic drink?
Is there a Winery in Napa with an onsite cooperage (barrel maker) that provides public tours. Preferably not too expensive.
Or if not…is there a really scenic roadway or Vineyard that would be nice for a day trip?
The good news is that my accommodation is free as I’m staying with my fiancee’s parents, and therefore some of my meals will be paid for, plus I have already paid for the flights. So I only need spending money. I’m going to Carcassone, if that helps. How much do things cost roughly in France for a croissant / coffee for example, and how about visits to vineyards? No doubt the wine will be the biggest expense of our holiday! I was thinking about £300, what does everyone else think?
My family have a bottle of Mount Veeder Winery - Cabernet Sauvignon - Napa Valley - Vintage 1998. I know nothing about wine, but I was curious about what types of food this kind of wine would pair good with, so I went to the net. My curiosity went on, and I wanted to see how much a bottle like this would cost? But for whatever reason, I can’t find this vintage year. Not even on the winery’s own website!

Myself and my Father both have the interest in taking up this hobby. We currently have a big summer house in our back garden which is where I believe we should try to make it. The only problems are the following:
We live in Britain and it the weather and temperature can differentiate all the time (my biggest concern being winter) does this mean that I can’t make wine in there because of an uncontrollable temperature?
We don’t really know where to start, we don’t want to make small amount to begin with we want to make a big batch. What equipment and grapes do I need? Does anyone have any tips for me.
I would like to know the different processes and methods of making wine with some advice on grapes and the measurements/ quantities of ingredients I need.
Also could people tell me how successful their wine making has been because i’d like to know whether or not it’s worthwhile.
Please also tell us where the best place to buy the kits from, e,g ebay.
