I am looking for a white wine, reasonably priced, that works well with fruit, cheese, and honey. More importantly, I’m looking for a wine that is not sweet–even dry if at all possible.

So I’m going to be visiting my friends in up state New York and one of my friends has offered to let me stay on their couch for a while. My question is should I buy them a gift to kind of say thanks for letting me stay? A nice bottle of wine perhapses? Or should I just offer to help around the house and possibly cook a few meals?

My wife and I have a day and a half to spend in the Santa Barbara Valley for some wine tasting. We are not at all familiar with the area or the wines but are adventurous and willing to explore. When it comes to the wine, we prefer to drink mostly reds. Here are a few of our favorite Napa wines to possibly help point us in the right direction for Santa Barbara: Peju, White Hall Lane, Cakebread Cellars, Beringer, and Hall. Any tips are welcome and appreciated!

Thanks in advance,

Ryan
Thanks for those pointers, I had already been to both of the two recommended sites and was looking for some personal favorites for recommendations.

Thanks again!

My wife and I are making a stop in either Turin or Asti and are looking to go to some wineries. Any suggestions? Also, are places open on Sundays?

Thanks,
Greg

My friend stumbled onto this and we are both wondering if this wine that is "marketed" in California, USA really contain blood or are they just role-playing? They talk about how there are rumors that they vineyard is owned by a circle of "vampires," yet they clearly do not say themselves who owns the vineyard. Can any food or drink (alcohol or not) be sold and/or marketed in the USA that may contain a harmful substance? Are they required to clarify for us what they put into their wine other than alcohol? And is it possible that they just list it in California, but their real location be outside the USA, therefore, not having to follow the rules? Any kind of answer would be very helpful to me. Feel free to go to the website and read the information and give me some ideas that I may have missed. That way I can have some ideas come from a different point of view other than my own. If you give an opinion or idea, please note under your answer that you answer is based on no legal evidence. If you have legal evidence, please put that under your answer. I accept any and every kind of answer.
Thank you everyone who has answered. Yeah, I think my friend and I just watched too many scary movies to ever think it was real.

What brand name wine would you recommend for e.g., a casual 4 oz. drink twice or thrice a week, as a reward for a hard day done, or to offer to friends who come over? I am looking at a - range here. No white or red wine. I would like some kind of fruit-y type of wine. A little tart to it is ok, but not overtly so. Help?
I would have liked to hear from smitf about which reds and whites that have a nice fruity finish. Feel free to email me with recommendations!

I know Russians are genetically resistant to alcohol but this is ridiculous… Is the wine defective? I checked the label and it does say "Contains alcohol", I think I got scammed…
