Yes in certain tasting rooms but not many.
When I was a young child and my family lived in Ukiah, in the middle of Mendociono County wine country, we used to go to wineries all the time on weekends. Children are definately allowed but obviously not allowed to sample any wine. My parents never had problems bringing me and my brother with them to the wineries. As long as your kids are well behaved and respectful the winery will have no problem with kids coming along with their parents. And sometimes some of the wineries have places for kids to play or hang out. We usually went to wineries in Sonoma and Mendocino Counties though so I’m not too sure if Napa Valley wineries are any different.
I remember going along with my parents as a young teen. Couldn’t taste, of course, but did get to see the casks, etc. Had to stay away from the wine bar, hanging out in the heat… not fun for me and my brother.
I also hate it when people bring their kids along. This is an adult adventure and it takes away from other people’s enjoyment.
no. please dont lug your child along. i dont really remember where it was, probably napa, but when i was about five, we went rving and my parents decided it would be fun to go wine tasting, so i had to sit in the rv with my sister for hours while they swilled wine it was horrible. dont put your child through that.
Depends on the facility you’re touring. But the more important part will your kids really enjoy the tour?
I am sorry but the laws apply everywhere even in the hills of Nappa Valley. My uncle runs tours and has had this question a lot. So no, children are NOT allowed to sample the wine.
I hate it when people bring their children! Save everyone the headache.
I do see people bringing children….though most do not bring children. There really is not much that would interest children. Maybe if you’re just stopping at 1 or 2 wineries it would be okay, but a day full of wine tasting would be a drag for most children.
I doubt it, minors are NOT allow in places dispensing alcohol, this includes wine.
Yes, they are allowed in the area but you need to be serious with supervision & you are not allowed to let them taste the wine either. Common sense.
If the child is under the age of twenty-one (the legal drinking age), then no. But if they can drive, you should take them anyway, as they can be the designated driver when the parents are too intoxicated to get behind the wheel.
