"Can an employee be fired for dropping a case of wine bottles they were carrying rather than using a cart? What if a manager did the same thing? Would they also be fired or how would that be handled?"

Yes an employee may be fired for the loss of revenue to the company. For a manager it depends but is unlikely to be fired.

It depends. If they make bad decisions or break stuff frequently, they may get fired. If this only happens once in a while and the employee is usually responsible and safe they won’t be fired. Unless their boss is a jerk;)
I think it would be ridiculous to get fired for that. You would most likely have to pay for the damages made, but that should be it. Unless your boss is a total a-hole.
