Can anyone recommend a cheap (under $15), sweet (fruit), full, balanced red wine that is fairly accessible?
I’m looking for a nice, full bodied, red wine that has a lot of fruit to it, but is still balanced. I would prefer one that was fermented to have a fruit flavor and not with artificial grape juice or sugar added. Anyone have any recommendations on one that I can buy at any local supermarket or liquor store?
Thank you so much!
I live in Dallas, TX by the way. ^_^
You people are great. ^_^
If it’s possible, please list also the year, vineyard, etc.
I really like Sweet Texas Red from Delaney Vineyards, but driving 40 min. to Grapevine and back guzzling premium gas… yeesh. >_<
Thanks for all the answers so far! I’ll go out with a list and start shopping tomorrow. ^_^

Hi,
Since you stated you want a sweet (fruity) wine you might try a Lambrusco which at under $15 will have a definite sweetness. If you would like a wine that has more big fruit flavors like blackberries, plums and raspberries and very smooth consider Wolf Blass Yellow Label Shiraz which can be found at most large wine & liquor retailers or supermarkets.
In your state the wine should run between $7 &$12. Let me know what you decide on.
Cheers!

Look for a Forestville merlot, 2000-2002 were good years for them.
You won’t be disappointed.
Also, Yellowtail Shiraz (Australian).
I really like David Bruce Petit Syrah…its under 30 bucks fruity and smooth.
Sounds like you would most enjoy these varietals: Red Zinfandel, Syrah, and Pinot Noir. You might also like a meritage (a wine that has a combo of varietals) that includes some cabernet sauvignon in it.
Good luck!
Peace
