Can i store my wine in the Garden Shed?
Hi
I have just bought 4 cases of wine (white and red) for christmas. Due to space i would like to store it in the garden shed (I am in the UK)
Will this harm it? Will it freeze if we get a cold night? It was -3°Deg Centigrade the other night.
Thanks

Don’t put your red wine in the shed. It’s needs to be kept at about room temperature. White wine needs to be refrigerated but not frozen. So, if it gets freezing outside bring the white wine in the house too.
i’m not sure about wine, but hard liquor doesn’t freeze solid. wrap the wine in a blanket for insulation just in case.
why not just cover them up with blankets
Both temperature and humidity will effect your wine. The variance outside in your shed is probably more than is good for the wine, you’re probably better off with it in a closet for a steadier climate, even though neither are perfect storage situations. Since it’s for short term, a closet inside is probably your best bet
To properly store wine you must keep a fairly even temperature. Exposing it to extreme cold and later in the year to extreme heat is one of the worst things to do.
In the U.K. don’t you have cellars under the house. The cellar would be a good storage place for wine.
