Healthiest Red Wine?
Ok, I want to know what wine has the highest level of antioxidants. I have heard three different answers. Is it not clear yet? Are they still researching? I have heard that Cabernet Sauvignon with Petit Syrah is best. Then I heard someone else say Pinot Noir. I have also heard the answer, "Merlot from Chile". Does anyone know where I can find out the REAL answer to this question, or has it just not been proven/decided yet? Thank you.
Well it seems as if no one really knows. I’m just going to ask a wine expert online somewhere.

Gosh, the latest up-to-date answer to this, determined by a British research team, was just in the news a couple of weeks ago, but I forget the specifics. It is a wine from an appellation in southern France, made from a rarely planted grape variety. You can probably find the information by search engining. Of course as more and more of the world’s tens of thousands of red wines are studied, a different one with greater antioxidents may be determined.
The best kind of red wine is Red Red Wine.
It goes to my head and makes me forget I love her so.
It stays close to me; it doesn’t let me be alone.
WARNING: It does, on occasion, tear up my blue, blue heart.
This has not really been proven yet past the "one glass of red wine a day can be healthy" stage. I think this is about as on par as trying to eat chocolate for antioxidants…it’s just something slightly healthy from something people enjoy, not to be taken as a serious source of antioxidants. The bottom line is, if you enjoy a glass of red wine with dinner, try and drink a glass of what you like instead of seeking something that might be contain more antioxidants.
My best guess is, they’re all around the same. If some contained more antioxidants than others, the industry itself would research and promote that wine as a healthy choice. Since they’er not doing this, it should be that all the red wines contain similar levels.
Zinfandel. Not white zinfandel, red. Hands down has the most antioxidants.
Cornell University in Ithaca, NY says it is " PINOT NOIR" , it has twice the amount of Resveratrol-the antioxidant that is supposed to be responsible for lowering cancer risks.
I don’t drink red wine, I like blush.
Drink what you like, you will die when it is your time anyways, so enjoy.
The best wine is the organic wine that is bottled without sulfites because all wine in the USA has them added but not organic wines that are certified organic.

Wines with sulfites are not good for you; I don’t care what anyone says or writes about them.
Red wines all have the same compounds - it does not matter what they call it or what grape is used - but sulfites kill the natural yeasts and tannins that are so healthy for you.
Try: Kendall Jackson’s Pinot Noir.
Yummy!
Norton, also called Cynthiana, has been reported to have HUGE levels for what you’re asking. Norton is an American native dating back to Thomas Jefferson. Named the state grape of Missouri, it is also grown in Virginia & select other locations.
But who wants to drink the same thing everyday? Mix it up a bit & enjoy all the varieties.
I’ve heard variations on this before. The whole idea with red wine is the skin contact, therefore you would think the darker the skins, the better the wine. There is some variations, but the differences are small enough that you the best red wine to drink for your health is the red wine you enjoy most. Stress isn’t good for your health, so drink what makes you happy. This is one medicine that is supposed to taste good.
