How did the whole thing about cheese and wine start?
I was on http://www.cheese.com/ and I was searching for this rare cheese and when I found it, it had this label that said "Recommended wine:" and I remembered about how people drink wine and eat cheese together…well how did all that get started and why do people do it? Do people do it on special occasions only?

They compliment each other - the flavor of certain cheeses brings out interesting and pleasant notes in wine, and vice versa. It’s not JUST cheese - pairing wine with food is a highly coveted art. For example, have you ever heard that you should drink red wine with beef, and white with chicken? It’s not just cause the colors match - having the right wine paired with the meal will highten the taste sensations of BOTH the wine and food. Cheese just happens to be a type of flavor that makes the flavor of a wine go HUZZAH in your mouth!
How did it start? How did peanut butter and jelly start? Milk and cookies? Turkey and cranberry sauce? Same as everything else that tastes good - people way way way back in the day just realized it tasted delicious together so they kept on doing it.
i don’t know and i don’t care. just eat the darn cheese and wine, and shut up.
haha i dont actually know maybe they only had cheese and wine to eat.? tradition?
