How do I paint on Wine glasses for a Bridesmaid's gift?

What type of paint should I use? Should i use a gloss? Should I wash the glasses before and after? In what type of water? etc….

I suggest you use etching cream. It frosts the glass and you can use a stencil. They have standard stencils or you can cut one with an x-acto knife. It is easier and comes out better. Most paint for glass requires oven baking.
Buy the cream and stencils at Michaels or AC Moore. Other stores carry it too.

You can get glass paint from craft shops. You can really get some great effects with it. Make sure glass is clean before you start.
