My mom got a gift of single vineyard wine and loved it…

Same quality of land for the grape, 100% of the grapes in the wine come from the same vineyard. Better quality of wine.
$20-40 depends on the quality
There is nothing that says a single vineyard varietal is any better than any other wine, just like everything, there are a lot of variables that go into wine. Sometimes a single vineyard varietal is really good, if the vineyard grows really good grapes. But there is nothing wrong with mixing grapes from different vineyards to obtain the different tastes that you want to achieve.
