It depends on white type of wine the like. There’s so many different wines to choose from. Do they like a dry wine or sweet?
Mouton Cadet is always impressive and not too expensive. Make sure you find out if they prefer white or red.
As they know more than you, don’t get them wine!
I’ve got the perfect wine for you. It is GABBIANO 2003 CHIANTI CLASSICO. It is delicious, the label is very handsome and since most people don’t give Chianti wine as a gift, I promise you they will be delighted to receive such a unique wine. It is a red wine,
I would suggest Ghost Pines, Louis M Martini, MacMurray Ranch, Bridlewood, William Hill Estate, all very good wines!
There are many different kinds of red wines, as well as different regions, if you can find out what they prefer go for that if not a gift certificate is a great way to go as well
Good Luck!
chateauneuf du pape - excellent french red - trust me
Let’s say you wanted to spend no more than fifty dollars. I would say Chateauneuf-du-Pape is a very good choice. Pinot Noir is excellent and one of my favorites. I like Hartford Pinot Noirs very much. If you go with a Pinot, then perhaps you should look to either Oregon (which is known for Pinots) or American Pinot. I love a good Red Burgundy but they are expensive. California cabs are also very expensive, but if you had to get one, I would choose between Groth and jordan. Both should be relatively affordable. Stay away from Chile, Australia, and New Zealand. Those are very specific wines for very specific tastes. One of the greatest red values out there is Les Bec Fins from Tardieu-Laurent.
Since there are so many varieties to choose from when it come to red wine, you’re best bet is either a meritage or a pinot noir.
A meritage is a blend of many red wines to create a very smooth, balanced, and tasty wine. You should be able to find a couple wines made by Cline Vineyards. I forgot the names, but there are two in particular that are very good.
As for pinot noirs, they are the most juiciest single red varietal. Since your friends probably know a moderate amount about wine, you should look for a brand called Hawley. It may look a little spendy at about $35-$40, but it is actually a steal as the wine is much better than the price.
