1.Mount Riley 2004 Pinot Noir its usually about 19 $ a bottle-its a red wine with purple hues, it has a berry aroma, ummm you can taste some strawbery and plum. aged in oak.
2. Bealieu- BV 2003 Napa Cabernet Sauvigon usually about 18 $ a bottle-a red wine dark ruby color almost a blackish red. Umm herbally taste, plum cassis and has a dark chocolatey aroma.
3. Veramonte 2005 Sauvignon Blanc (white) usually about 12 $ a bottle.a white wine Zesty, light crisp flavor, citrusy.
they are my top three pick for decently priced, and good tasting wine.it would depend on what their particular taste is but if you’re giving it as a gift do not get the wine in a box thats just tacky get the bottle or bottles individually wrapped in brown coarse paper.( dont know why i just know that the proper way to give them as a gift)
my favorites are piesporter or reisling. they are EXCELLENT choices
There are so many answers to this question. The best bottle of wine I have ever had was at a monastery in Austria. That being said, go to your local store that specializes in wine and ask the owner, That’s how you will get the best you can in your area and price range. If you are lucky enough to have vineyards in your area that’s a great place too.
mad dog 20/20. they will be impressed.
Guy, you don’t say ANYTHING about what your GF’s parents like. Why don’t you use some observation at dinner next time with them and find out what they like to drink ? White ? Red? Blush?Find out what it is they enjoy in the taste of wine and make a choice based on that.I’m sure you’ll win the respect of her parents , and gain a little knowledge of wine all at the same time.
I would suggest that you try to find out what types of wines they like to drink. (Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel, etc.). Some of my favorites of the different possibilies that are $25 or less are the following:
Cabernet Sauvignon: Peter Lehmann 2002 Cabernet from Barossa Valley of Australia - A best buy at around $15.
Chardonnay: Chateau Saint Michelle 2004 Canoe Ridge Estate Vineyard Chardonnay from the Columbia Valley of Washington. $22.
Zinfandel: Seghesio 2004 Sonoma Zinfandel - $20. Also any Zinfandel from Rosenblum Cellars or Renwood Estates.
Sauvignon Blanc: Kim Crawford 2006 Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - $17.
Petite Sirah: Foppiano 2003 Estate - $20.
Sparkling Wine (Champagne): Greg Norman Estates NV Sparkling Chardonnay from Australia - $20.
