I would like some ideas on how to get a name put on a wine opener for a gift?
Engraving turns out to be too expensive. Does anyone have any ideas. The wine opener looks like this http://www.corkscrew.com/sales-boomerang.html
it has a black plastic handle and I would like white lettering.

They do have 3D plastic lettering at a hardware store, but they will come off it this item is washed too often, even if you use crazy glue. If you plan on giving many of them, maybe at a hobby shop like Micheals you can find some sort of cheap engraving tool and do it yourself. GOOD LUCK
If you only want one, I have no idea, If you want them for gifts, look in the phone book for promotional product dealers. They may not have the exact one that you want but you could them printed and probably for less than buying them retail for printing.
If all else fails try http://www.norwood.com
Or do a search for promotional products wholesale
Monogramming is passe. Went out with bowling balls in the 70’s
What the heck do you want to monogram an $8.00 cork screw for anyway? You want to get a really nice opener? Snag this up, (great price too!)
You could try going to a trophy place. They could come up with a black nameplate that would be affixed to the wine opener. That should be less expensive that engraving.
