If I drink a couple of glasses of wine before bed I spend half the night raiding the refrigerator.?
I have a couple of glasses of wine to relax at night but then I go to bed and cant sleep so I get up and eat carbs, chocolate, crisps or anything else and have hot milk, then I can go to sleep. Consequently my weight is soaring.

a) alcohol lowers inhibitions, so you’re more likely to give into bad food decisions
b)alcohol can cause your blood sugar to spike and drop like junk food does, making you hungry.
drink some herbal tea before bed…it also is soothing, but won’t trigger cravings.
Have you tried skipping the wine and going for water instead? Eat three hours before you sleep.
Try it tonight and see what happens.
If you still have a problem without the wine, which I’m sure is one of the problems aside from you already being comfortable with eating right before you sleep, then go see your doctor.
And if you don’t drink "a couple of glasses?" Oh, than you cannot relax…
Could you be an alcoholic and afraid to admit it?
