is it okay to used distilled water when making homemade wine?
i used distilled water in a batch of wine and then read on some random site that distilled water when making wine is a "no no".

If you are making wine fom fruit concentrate. ( what it sounds like you mean ) the fruit concentrate will provide all of the nutrients necessary. And if you use tap water, boiling is not a bad idea. Not because there is much chance of bacteria affecting the wine but to remove the chlorine which cann inhibit the yeast and impart an off flavor.
The wine yeast depends upon a small amount of minerals for "food" in order to live and convert the sugar into alcohol and carbon dioxide.
Distilling water removes those minerals.
Even my books say its a NO-NO
Recommend adding a little yeast nutrient to ensure the yeast can get a good start if using distilled water So to a degree it can be ok to used distilled water
Sorry, but your wines not going to come out right. I use mineral water myself… for my beer. Never tap… My tap water tastes like a Welsh whores armpit… Sorry to any Welsh citizens that might be reading this, but your whores are smelly.
