Is the “Taste Napa Downtown Wine tasting card” a good idea to buy when spending 3 days in Napa over Thnksgvg?
I’ve heard alot about this card…is it worth it? Says then each tasting is only 10 cents, which sounds great. I’ve seen the site with participating stores in the downtown area which is good to know. Also, do a lot of restaurants waive the corkage fee if we have this card? Does that mean most restaurants allow you to bring your own wine in? Thanks everyone…

I’d recommend the passport card that you can buy at COPIA in Napa. Copia is a non-profit discovery center founded by Robert Mondavi to explore, celebrate, and share the pleasures of wine and food. This would be a great place to begin a Napa Valley Wine Tour. The passport costs $10. Learn more at: http://www.cheers2wine.com/Copia.html
You can also print free wine tasting coupons at this site:

Cheers!
Go to Parradux and my Sister will set you up (on the Silvardo Trail)
Stay away from Napa, go up North to St. Helena
If you are looking to actually experience a winery don’t buy it because all the places are storefronts in downtown Napa and not actual wineries. Head up valley along highway 29 or Silverado Trail. Many wineries will refund your tasting fee if you purchase a bottle.
In regards to the restaurants, that card will not get you any waived corkage. They will generally charge you $10-25 for bringing in your own bottle. Some will waive the corkage if you buy one of their bottles as well. Buy a bottle of white from the restaurant and bring in your own bottle of red.
