Is there a reason why we need a wine cooler?
I have always wondered why if Red wine is suppose to be used in room temp why they are in a wine cooler. I am usually a red wine drinker. I was just curious about a wine cooler/refrigerator. Does it enhance the flavor?

You need a wine cooler because a regular fridge is too cold for red wine and room temp can be way too hot. Ideal temp for reds is 54 degrees in my very own opinion.
Wine needs to be kept at a cooler temperature if you are storing them for any length of time. If you simply plan to drink a wine within a few weeks or so, no problem and no need for a cooler.
Some wines are meant to be consumed immediately, while other wines are meant to be aged before consuming. They actually improve over time.
During aging, you want the wine kept at a constant temperature to avoid damaging the wine. Temperature fluctuations prematurely age and damage wine and can severely impact the quality of the wine.
