Is this a good wine to give as a gift?
I know nothing about wines so I just want to make sure that the wine the salesman recommended was a good one. The label says, "Chateau La Roque, Pic Saint Loup, Red Coteaux du Languedoc wine, Cupa Numismae." It also says it’s a 2004 vintage wine. I paid for a 750ml bottle. Was this a good deal or should I just find another wine store to go to in the future for my gifting needs?

You probably did OK. Wine, for a non-wine drinker is a crap-shoot. Link below.
sounds good to me..
it sounds just about okay, but you’ll go much better with a Trader Joe’s Merlot Wine(red wine 2009 recommended by Rachel Ray.) It’s a fantastic wine, great with Brie soft cheese. I love it. It’s the best wine I have let sit on my taste buds in years. here’s the web: http://traderjoes.com/Attachments/pairing.pdf
You cannot go wrong with Pinot Grigio.
It drinks well and you can cook with it.
It is a nice dry white wine.
