if it is sweet, is is usually better served chilled. white wines, zifandels, reisling, chardonay, sangria, etc sweet wines are best put in the fridge for at least 30 min.

dry wines ot red wines such as cabernet, merlot, sauvignon are fine at room temp.

Keep in mind that if it comes out of a wine cellar, they are usually underground, and cool.

A sweet Hungarian wine would probably be best served cold. Most sweet wines are better cold. Drier wines tend toward room temperature for optimum taste.

I think it depends, I know people who like to have some of their white wines more cool than warm, but I don't know about red, I think it is prefered by most people at room temp. I don't drink wine personally, so this info is only coming from observing other people.

Room temperature. It really depends on what kind it is. Red wine is usually drunk room temperature.

It would help to know the exact wine, but most red wines are supposed to be served at room temperature or SLIGHTLY chilled. I think 63 degrees F is considered room temp (not 70-75 degrees), so you may have to chill your wine for a short bit before opening.

Most red wines also need to breathe for a few minutes before drinking. This is also dependent on the wine and the age. Five minutes is more than enough. If the wine doesnt taste right, you can always swirl it in your glass a few times and let it settle for a few seconds.

Most important though is what temperature you like it, especially when drinking it alone.

There are also decanters to help the wine breathe, but I can handle waiting five minutes.

some wines are better cold (carlos rioos) and some wines are actualy suppose to be warmed up a bit (some type of spiced one?)

and then there are the ones that work best at room temperature..so really it depends on what type of wine. hahaha

I would go with room temperature.

The wine you describe would be best chilled. Many wines, however, are consumed at room temp.
