Just wondering which brand and types of red wine that taste better?
I heard about Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, etc along with the brand Jacobs Creek, McGuinnan, Lindeman, de Bertoli, etc.
Which one is the good one?
What is the difference between them?
Thanks
^^

One man’s meat is another’s poison.
What I like, Merlot , may not be to your taste.
I like red , you may like white.
Sweet versus dry?
Fruity versus acidic?
Find a wine store that has offers in it. 3 for £10($15) and buy three bottles of different wine go home and try them.
Your own palette can best answer this Question.
It really depends on your taste, and you might have to try them to see which type you like. Some red wines are higher in tannins (the reason you pucker when you drink them), and some are higher in different flavours. It depends on how strong and full bodied you like your wine. If you’re just looking for something kind of midline, I would suggest a baco-noir. It’s full-bodied, but low in tannins, so you get the taste, but not the bitterness.
My favourite is Bordeaux. It is imported from France.
Wine is such a personal taste thing. I assume you do not "do" wine yourself, and if you are trying to pair up some wine for a meal, then you might be in trouble.
There is Red and White, and then some blushes, which are a bit of both.
There is dry and sweet. And some that are a bit of both.
Now, your own personal taste, and how to pair it up with food will require you to do your own homework. Even so, some help can be given.
It is sorta like this. White wine goes with white meats. Red wine with read meats. A semi dry or dry wine for meals. A sweet wine for opening the taste buds and for deserts.
If you go to a vineyard, they usually have wine tasting so you can decide what to buy. I would suggest you do this.
After you get a "taste" of what’s out there, the subtle flavor changes from manufacturer to manufacturer will become apparent to you.
merlot tastes the best, but you should get some, white zinfandel, or white merlot, you will like those the most
drink one for rex
You’re in Australia then.
Parker Terra Rossa Cabernet Sauvignon, St. Henri, Grange, Bin 389, bin 28 and 128. Guess I’m a Penfolds fan. Anything from Padthaway, mclaren vale barossa. also a big fan of Two Hands wines. I took on their wines where I was Chef Sommelier, couldn’t praise them enough. I think we were one of the first in the UK to get them. You are lucky buggers in Ausie, having all that choice. Jeez, that’s got my mouth watering now!
