necessary to put unopened wine in refrigerator?
I bought a couple of red and white wines and don’t plan on drinking them for at least a couple of month to a year. Someone told me I need to put them in the kitchen refrigerator, is this correct? Will it go bad if I just leave it in the living room?

As long as it doesn’t get really hot (above room temp about), then it doesn’t matter if they are refrigerated or not. The main concern is if they are cosed with a cork (as opposed to a screw cap) then try to store them on their side so the cork remains moist and keeps an appropriate seal. If the cork dries out the seal isn’t adequate and air gets in with the wine, which can make it go bad.
I work at a liquor store and some of our slower sellers will sit on the shelf for a couple of months or more. We don’t need to refrigerate them, just turn them upside down every so often to ensure the cork is wet. Just put them into the fridge when you want to chill them. And only whites should be chilled. Reds taste to acidic if you serve them chilled.
Some wines should be kept at a certain temperature (that’s why people have wine cellars)
yeah it’ll be bad if your room temp is above 60-70 hot as fuck but if ur living room is cool it should still be good doesnt have to be ice cold
No. Just keep them in a cool place, on their side (so the wine is on the cork). A basement or closet works fine.
