I will be vactioning in Europe this summer. I want to send home some bottle of wine home by courrier (Purolator, UPS, etc.) as I will be going many different places and don’t want to carry them with me. Is this a possible alternative and if so, how should I go about it?

Interesting story about a man who broke into a house and pointed a gun at the occupants with the intention of robbing them. The people offered him a glass of wine and some food. Supposedly one asked him what his mother would think of what he was doing. Later they all gave him a hug. Then the robber just said something like "well, maybe I’ve come to the wrong house" and he left.

My boyfriend and I are taking a day trip up there. We are trying to give ourselves some direction to go in. Any suggestions? Word has it there’s a place that does gondola rides. Does anyone have a recommendation? I’m looking for a place that is interesting to look at and maybe tour, has a free or reasonably priced tasting option, and does not require too much notice for a Saturday afternoon visit. I’ll be bringing my parents. The ideal geographic location would be somewhere on the North Fork, close to Riverhead, but that’s flexible.

My mother have in her refrigerator SEVERAL remaining unopened bottles of wine that were not used in a party and the bottles are now occupying needed space of her fridge. Since we don’t usually drink we don’t know if its okay to leave them at room temperature after being in the refrigerator.
