Sparkling Fruit Wine Question?
First, is there yeast in sparkling fruit wines? I always get a headache and I’m allergic to yeast and when I do a web search it seems yeast comes into the picture in every heading but I can’t find specifics. Second, how long do the cheap, i.e. blueberry, strawberry, etc., seasonal local wines last in the fridge. I love the flavor despite the headache but I opened a bottle that was 1 1/2 years old and it just wasn’t as sweet as it had been. Thanks as I’m obviously not a wine person, I like it to taste like Kool Aid!

There is always yeast in all wines. The commercial wines are often filtered to remove as much as possible. Often they are pasteurised (boiled) as well.
Fruit wines - if they are home made then they are likely to contain some yeast.
How are they sparkling? If this is through secondary fermentation then they will have yeast. If they are filtered etc. and the gas pumped in like a fizzy drink then they should have no yeast at all.
If they contain yeast then the yeast will convert the sugar so they become less sweet over time. It does not mean that the wine has gone off. I would say 10 years in the rack is not too long.
