When I got home today the Lady I’m staying with said I was invited to a graduation party next door, and to bring my own wine (bring my own wine? huh?). So I go over there, and one of the teachers from my school is there. I didn’t know she taught at ilsc until she told me. She was always trying to have a conversation with me, and even made me take a picture with her (she’s canadian). So I just went along with it and wanted to roll because there were literally like 30 girls and only like 4 guys. I was offered alcohol about 5 times ( the drinking age in Quebec is 18) but I told them I don’t drink. Then this lady keeps telling me how good looking I am and how I’m gonna have fun in montreal and learn about "quebeconese girls", and how I’m gonna regret it **then she laughs**. So they start speaking a lot of french and I could tell they were talking about me. So I decided to wait an hour and leave. When I was telling her bye she was like "I’m sure you will have an enjoyable time in Montreal, stop by my office tomorrow, I teach mostly girls from mexico and canada, stop by so I can introduce you to my "girls".

I hate the taste of beer and even wine and most alcohol, but I don’t feel very manly when people offer me alcoholic beverage and I tell them I only drink sissy drinks like wine coolers or hard lemonade…

I’d like to be able to "kick back a few with the boys"

How can I remedy this?

Empirically I am coming to the conclusion that the longer a red wine takes to open up after uncorking, the better will evolve by keeping it in the cellar. Experts talk about structure (alcohol/tannin/acid balance) but this seems quite subjective. And, of course some just go with the wine’s reputation to age well, but this can vary from vintage to vintage. Do you have other ways of assesing a wine’s potential to age?

I want to avoid an open bar due to our spending limit, but I did want to offer my guests alcohol without making them pay. Is it out of the question to have offer a limited open bar with only beer and wine, and a cash bar where the guests could pay for liquor? Has anyone used this? Thank you.

I am looking for a recipe to make a gallon of wine. .i have a glass gallon jar, I have an air lock. How much frozen juice? how much sugar and how much yeast? I have been told to freeze the wine when it is done to kill the yeast. If I remove some of the ice while it is frozen (ice is water, not the alcohol ) Will it make the wine stronger? or was he wrong about removing the ice?

im making cheese fondue, and its sunday so i cant exactly go buy wine, but i have some other types of hard alcohol. i know some people say there are substitutions for the wine, like apple juice or milk, but they dont stop the curdling. could i use some of the juice, and then splash in some alcohol, or is it not the alcohol that prevents the curdling?

I am designing a fine wine label and packaging for a graphic designing program in college. I am underage, 20 so unfortunately I can’t purchase or drink any alcohol.

I was wondering, what kind of "red" wine do you guys as the audience of age ranging from 30-55 like to drink? What does it taste like?

What is it that attracts you? The image? The name? What makes you pick it up a specialty wine store or purchase it at restaurants?

Ditto for champagne? I know that proper storage is in order for wines and champagnes to maintain their integrity, however, if given alcohol from relatives who decided to ‘clean out’ their stash - there is no way of knowing if any of it is any good until it is actually opened.

If a bad bottle is opened, I know from aroma and taste, you can tell if it’s turned, and granted you wouldn’t want to drink it, but is there a way these can be turned into wine or champagne vinegars?

And at that point, can one make the most of it in a sauce reduction? Or is it a general rule to just toss it. It seems like such a shame if this is the case.

Please advise. Thank you in advance for your answers!
I also want to know - if this IS possible and you can turn it into a wine vinegar, what is the shelf-life of that and do you have to store it in the refrigerator?
