My husband and I are having an anniversary party in a few weeks, and we have invited about 25 people. A couple of those invited may bring girlfriends who are underage, not by much, but yet still underage.
While it won’t be an issue to be sure they aren’t drinking, should we just avoid serving wine or champagne altogether? I don’t really want anyone to have to be policing the party.
On a side note, when we were getting married, my in-laws offered to host our rehearsal dinner, but wouldn’t allow alcohol. We ended up having it at a restaurant instead. They gave us a similar option for our engagement party, but we wanted a wine & cheese party, so we had it at my matron of honor’s home instead.
What are your thoughts? It’s not as if anyone is going to get sloshed, but I would really like to toast to my anniversary with a glass of wine or champagne.

I will be moving to Beijing, China in a couple months and I am interested in shipping some wine/whiskey/other alcohol back home to Napa, CA while I am there. Are there any regulations that will be troublesome? Will it be expensive? I am not interested in using FedEx or UPS, regular international shipping would be best. Any ideas?
Merci beaucoup

i got the girl i like a nice bottle of spanish wine as a gift. we are in college. it’s difficult to find the right time and way to give it to her because alcohol isn’t allowed on campus and i don’t want to give it to her randomly and make her hold it the whole time.

I have made wine three years in a row with real grapes.
First year, sheraz: not bad 6/10
Second year merlot: great: 9/10
Third year merlot: terrible 2/10 — the wine had bubbles and it smelt bad. It was also very strong in alcohol.
I am suspecting that yeast is behind my problem. I used a general type wine yeast.
thanks!!
I was previously using champagne yeast

Is there a yummie warm beverage without alcohol I could offer instead, that maybe even looks a bit like mulled wine and can be drunk from the same glasses?
oh grape juice sounds nice. Thank you! Do you think I could also use elderflower juice, or don’t children like that?

Called Chaptalization, not only does it seem like cheating and cheapening the quality of wine, is it really necessary? All the wine recipes I find for making it at home call for literally pounds of sugar. Would using the right fruit at the right ripeness result in a good amount of alcohol?
What about for other berry fruits, apples, or pears?
