I’m an experienced bartender, having managed a beer, wine and food pub, but now that I’m in London I want to make the move in to cocktails to open up career opportunities. Does anyone have any advice on how to go about this? Anyone who has done it themselves?
I know that chains like TGI Fridays give lots of training and have a surprisingly high standard on the bar, but in London they are never hiring. Anywhere else that is likely to hire relative novices and offer training?

Changing from Bartender of 14 years to a new career. Both offer same compensation and benefits package. Which has more future? Pos co. is 40 yrs old, Wine co. is about 5 yrs old with lots of room for advancement. Help!!
I aquired a pretty sweet liqour/wine cabinet, it has a rack to store about 30 bottles of wine. As a bartender, I have a vast knowledge of liqueurs, beers, and spirits. But my wine knowledge aint so good. I’m willing to spend about 0 a month on filling up the rack. What are some great tasting and very affordable (i’m talking - a bottle) wines. Any wines will do: White, Red, Fortified, Sparkling, etc. Please help me out, Thanks.
My wedding reception site has no bar, but we would like to serve wine and beer. My fiance thinks a plain keg is too "redneck". Any ideas for creating a bar with beer and wine without a bartender? Can we rent a draft machine or something like that? We are having a champagne fountain but we want to offer other options. Thanks for any input!
