I’ve never had one before so I want it to be good. Should I got get some boxes of other kinds of wine too? Maybe some kraft singles? What about crackers?
Cottage cheese is a little bit too fancy for me.

Hullo veg*ns!
I’m going to host a wine tasting party in a couple of weeks and I need some ideas for what to serve. My friends are actually going to bring their fave wines, so I won’t know specifically what types of reds or whites they’re bringing. I just need some munchy/finger food ideas that pair well with each broad category.
I’m keeping it all vegan, so what could I offer (besides fruit and hummus with crackers - lol)?
Thanks for the input and have a fabulous, cruelty-free day!

BTW: I’m pretty well-versed in the kitchen, so I want to make quite a few of the dishes as opposed to buying them.

That’s the question.. would a white or red wine go best and what kind of crackers would you buy to go with it

ok, i bought a cheese ball that is cheddar cheese and port wine and covered in almonds.. I ran out of crackers and still have over half of it left. I don’t want it to go to waste, so i’m looking for some recipe ideas that incorporate this cheese ball…

I’m going on a second date to a vineyard this weekend. You can taste the wines and buy a bottle there. But, you can’t bring any other drinks on the premises. They sell bottled water, tea, coffee, soda and other nonalcoholic drinks, in addition to wine.

But, you are encouraged to bring your own food, because they don’t sell any food on the premises.

I offered to pack a really nice lunch for me and my date. But, I’m not sure what to pack. He’s picking me up around 12pm and the vineyard is about an hour away. So, we’ll probably be eating around 2pm or so.

I was thinking about doing cheese platter with crackers, pepperoni and maybe some hummus too. But, I wanted to have really nice sandwiches to go with it and possible fruit for dessert.

But, I want the food to go well with wine. Does anyone have any quick, yet gourmet sandwich ideas? What about fruit? Will fresh strawberries and grapes work well?

What wine pairs well with Irish Cheddar Cheese? Right now, all I have at home is Blueberry Weisser, Sweet Blackberry Wine, and Red Table wine. Would any of these go well with the cheese?
Also, what type of crackers would go well with the cheese. I have to have crackers with my cheese!

So… I may have gotten in over my head promising a classy-like wine and cheese party to my friends (luckily were all close so if it sucks they’ll still love me). I have an idea of the wines and cheeses I will have, but do I serve crackers? Ritz, triscuits, or do I have to go crazy and get melba and crositni things? FYI, I’m serving fruit too. Anything else that is relatively simple I can serve these kids (like no more than 2-3 steps further than opening a box). Thanks for your help!!
LOL…it’s not for actual kids…I just ca;; my friends "the kids"…I assure you we are all well over 21…some of us treading pretty close to 30:)
also….my evil plan is to buy all of the stuff I need at Trader Joe’s…any special items from there anyone can suggest? They have a rally good pesto/cheese tort thing I plan on getting.

Should I just stick with plain crackers or are there any specific brands, flavors that go well for a wine and cheese tasting?

I have some fancy cheeses to serve; should I just chop it up or is there a particular way that looks fancy? And do I need to serve crackers or is that tacky?
