Two years ago my dad planted a wine vineyard in our backyard. this past september was the first year he was able to crush the grapes and make wine. he is soooo into this and is sooo proud of it. he has been taking classes at the community college and everything.
the other day i had 3 friends over and i asked my dad if we could go and smell the wine that was fermenting in the cellar. he said yes as long as we put the cork back in. i had never seen it so i was excited and stuff. well after we weredone looking at it i tried to put the cork back in and i couldnt do it. so i tried one last time and the cork pushed WAYYYY to far in. its next to impossible to get it out now but the bottle is still corked. i was scared to tell him about it but he found it today. he is FURRIOUS. idont know how to apologize.
i know i should have told him sooner but i was soo scared that hed freak out. i dont kno what i was thinking. hes in the kitchen rite now….what should i go and say to him????
For my dad? I am 19, so obviously too young to buy it. I plan on giving my mom the money to buy it for me, then give it to my dad. I don’t know much about wine, about how much is a decent bottle of wine.

Am i allowed in a wine shop?
My parents collect wine from their trips they take (japan, germany, australia, califorinia, carnival cruises, etc.)
I bought them a wine rack for xmas and would like to buy them each a bottle of wine. However I know NOTHING when it comes to wine.
What is a decent wine to give as a xmas gift, My dad is big into harleys and collects harley things also so I may get him a bottle of "v-twin zin" which is put out by harley davidson.
But any ideas of what to get for my mom? I want something different not just a plain wine.
I currently live in Sydney, Australia and I’m trying to send 2 bottles of wine to the US, specifically New York and Tenessee for my Dad and my Brother In Law as Christmas presents. Is there anyway to get around some of the laws prohibiting wine shipment? What’s the best way to go about this? Any suggestions would be very much appreciated. Thanks.
Acutally I’ve been told that it’s illegal to ship through the US postal service. There are no laws in Australia with regard to shipping out, in fact I have a postal grade shipping box made specifically for wine, so there’s no issues there. I’m mostly just concerned about the laws in the US.
I am 22 and have been dating my boyfriend for 2+ years. This past year I moved away from my family and live near him. His family has been nice and always invite me and include me in things and are always available if i needed them. Even though ive been here for a year i still dont really know them all too too well. I am moving out of state back home due to a job change. We are going out to dinner because I am moving and feel like I should give them a thank you gift for the past year. I couldnt think of anything they arent sweets lovers and rarely go out to eat. His mom drinks wine and his dad occasionally. Would a nice bottle of red wine with a thank you card be appropriate? I really just want them to like me, and make a good ‘last’ impression. I am on a budget.

and we already looked up the vinyard, and it’s not even there anymore, and the vinyard used to be in San Gabriel, California.
We weren’t looking to buy more, we were seeing if it was worth anything, and if they don’t make it anymore wouldn’t that mean it would be more rare???

My fiance and I are not well off, so we can’t afford to give them lavish things, so what would be a nice gift…I was thinking for my dad and stepmom, a nice wine gift basket…But I am not sure..any ideas?
I’m just curious on what people think about this….
On Christmas Day my brother & sister in law where giving their 2 1/2 year old sips of wine & beer all night long. At one point the kid chugged the rest of the moms wine and she just asked her hubby to go get her more because her son drank the rest, they didn’t even care. Then I see the dad holding him on his lap and actually offering the kid beer. It’s not like the child was tugging at the bottle or asking for it, the dad just offered it and gave it to him. On more than 1 occasion I must add. Between all the beer & wine these parents were giving him I’m surprised he was still walking. LOL
They also have 2 old kids almost 5 & 7, I’ve never seen them give them any alcohol but it wouldn’t surprise me now.
I have 2 kids & have never even thought about giving them sips. They’ve asked but I’d just explain that it’s for adults & when they grow up that’s when they can have some.
I just don’t agree….what are your thoughts?
Ok so my dad drinks cockburns 20 year old tawny port and i want to get him something different, its the only one he drinks, but i want to get him something similar so he likes it but i dont know much about wine and don’t want to get something he wont like. worse comes to worse i could jus buy his brand but want to get him somthing different
