I assume the French and Italians probably do, but I’ve heard that the majority of european countries, or at least western european countries drink wine throughout the day. Not to get drunk(or maybe, who knows), but just like we would grap for a soda or a cup of coffee, they’ll grab for a glass of vino.

If a blind person told me that they’d just came back from the wine cellar, I’d know something was up. Why didn’t Vicki, JT or Victor think it was strange for a blind man to be wandering around a wine cellar? That’s almost like a deaf person going to the opera.
Tiana, he’s not blind, he’s just injecting something into his eyes to mess up his vision, they showed that a few weeks ago.
emmy, how do you propose that a blind man pick out a wine? do you think victor went as far as to put braille labels on all of the wines? no. of course blind people drink wine, what i’m saying is he (as a blind man) would have no way of picking out a good wine. that’s why its so particular. jt is a private detective, if anyone picked up on that, he should have.

Studies have consistently demonstrated that moderate consumption of alcohol and wine is statistically associated with a decrease in death due to cardiovascular events such as heart failure.

Is that just advertising for alcohol or is there actually a benefit that grapes don’t offer us already?

Polyphenols, antioxidants, and flavonoids are present in the grapes. Is the fermentation into alcohol and extraction into the alcohol of these substances helpful for our intake? The presence of (extra) yeast is a small plus i suppose? Or do the potentially beneficial substances like vitamin B12 break down during the making of the wine?

The only hint that wine beats grapes in one aspect is this (maybe): resveratrol is produced naturally by grape skins in response to fungal infection, including exposure to yeast during fermentation. As white wine has minimal contact with grape skins during this process, it generally contains lower levels of the chemical. Benefits of resveratrol have been suggested after animal studies (in mice, not men). Resveratrol is inactivated in the gut/liver, so most of it doesn’t reach the blood stream. So if at all to benefit from resveratrol in wine, one must sip it slowly, because absorption via the mucous membranes in the mouth can result in up to around 100 times the blood levels of resveratrol.

If you know more, let me know. Thanks!
No best answer to my question yet (please read the whole introduction too, answering yes on my title question doesn’t help). Not many people responding to the question, maybe there’s just no health benefit from wine over grapes, and maybe that’s just obvious to all of you. But more people drink wine without considering grapes (or grape juice without the dangers of alcohol). No fun in that said someone. Aren’t there other ways to have fun without having to wreck your health? Feel free to answer.
To Luacharman: how does alcohol help?

We were thinking of alternating wine bottle stoppers & candy boxes at each reception table. There are 10 people per table (so 5 of each favor). My fiance & I love wine, so we chose the bottle stoppers, however we want to offer something different for those who do not drink wine. The alternating favors would ultimately save us some money too. Would this violate any sort of etiquette rules? Would it be better to stick to just one favor?

I don’t drink wine myself as I get a headache from the tannins or something like that. But I just got a cabinet with a small wine rack in it, and would like to have a few bottles around to offer glasses to guest (instead of a beer, lol).
I have no clue what I should keep on hand. Can you offer advice on what to chose for a half a dozen bottles? I’d like to keep it under 0 if possible.
Thanks!!

Where is the best place to stay in Napa Valley?
I am planning a luxury retreat for 10 key customers to Napa Valley. These people have the money to do whatever they want so we need to impress. I am not very familar with where to stay and what to do in Napa other than drink wine, play golf and go to spas so would like some recommendations on the most high end, luxury accommodations as well as high end winery tours, etc. In addition, I would like to find a location that has a full service, high end spa. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Wannabe soldiers won’t drink wine coolers. They want to look tough.

Real soldiers aren’t scared to drink wine coolers. They will not refuse to drink a wine cooler if offered to them.

What do you think?

We just bought this bottle of wine (I don’t usually drink wine, just wine coolers) but we bought this "sweet Hungarian wine" and my friend is thinking of how in the movies they seem to take their wine right off the rack or wine cellar and drink it room temperature…………..but I’m thinking "shouldn’t wine be drank cold?"……………what do you think…………???
It’s a red wine
