I am 24 and I don’t understand why drinking wine is considered classy and elegant? Most wines in the grocery store are cheaper then a case of beer.I much rather drink a full case of beer a night then wine and most cases of beer are 16-20 dollars much more then most wines classy people drink. I just dont understand why wine is considered classy and elegant. Personally I’d much rather drink a case of beer or 4 or 5 24oz Tilts or Lokos

I am just wondering what kind of wine is traditionally Jewish, or consumed widely by Jewish people. A few of my Jewish friends always seem to have Shiraz, or Syrah, I was just wondering if this is a normal thing?

And then I was drinking wine with a friend and went for a bottle of Shiraz (I’ve never had it), and he said "eh, not that stuff please, all the Jews in the old neighborhood used to drink that, it is awful." He grew up in a heavily Jewish neighborhood and had a lot of Jewish friends.

Anyway, no real point to this question, it’s just one of those things that I haven’t been sure on for quite some time.

These are sahih hadiths…

Sahih Muslim: "Drinks, Drinking wine and fermentation"

Narrated by Gaber bin Abdullah:

We were with the messenger of Allah, PBUH and he asked for a drink. One of his men said: "Oh Messenger of Allah, Can we offer you wine to drink?" He said Yes. He (Gaber) went out looking for the drink and came back with a cup of wine. The messenger (Peace Be Upon him) asked, “Have you covered it with a twig in a transverse manner” He (Gaber) said, “Yes” and he (Muhammad) drank.

Sahih Muslim - Hadith #3753

These narrations are authentic and can be viewed on one of the official websites of Saudi Arabia. Many of the more embarrassing narrations have been omitted from the translated ahadith collections, thus can only be found in the original Arabic. In this case the entire section of hadith "Drinking wine and fermenting the container" has been omitted from English hadith collections.

He who obeys the Messenger, obeys Allah: But if any turn away, We have not sent thee to watch over their (evil deeds).

Qur’an 4:80

These are sahih hadiths in Arabic that have been translated and verified by multiple native speakers of the Arabic language, they are not false.

Basically: I’m 21 and have little to no experience with this, lol. I spent my teen years drinking wine coolers and Blue Moon at parties with friends- that’s basically the extent of it. I was recently at a club where someone offered me a drink. I said no thanks, but in actuality would have liked to accept- I just have noooo idea what to order.

I have made a website http://www.veritaswines.co.uk/ in an effort to learn more about wine clubs and start collecting wine myself. All the information on the site has been made from reading books and researching online but I have never collected wine myself and I would love to hear from someone that does! I would like to find out why they collect wine and what wines they feel are best? What’s the most versatile wine?

I love drinking wine but as I am on my own a the moment I don’t buy it cause I always feel wine is for celebrating! I want a good wine for when my girl friend comes to visit and If I get any other visitors!

They sold this awesome wine at my local grocer, it was gone in a bout a week. Oddly, they never carried it again. I forgot the name of the wine, and have been seeking it out ever since (3 months). It is a pinot noir I believe, or Shiraz . . . The label had yellow and red dots drinking wine. Sorry, I don’t have much to go on.

i started drinking wine supposedly for the health benefits: antioxidants, etc. but a friend of mine told me to avoid wine that has sulfite. what is this, exactly? what are its effects? is it worth drinking wine for health reasons if it has sulfite?

thanks!
