I assume that some/most of you are more enlightened in this matter then me, so you can just educate me what should work best. I would be using it for entertainment/educational purposes, so software does not have to be stable release.

Software should work at least one of following OS:
* MS Vista
* MS Server 2003
* Ubuntu(or +help of wine).

End result will be stored in Youtube or Metacafe so I’d like it to record at least 27-30 fps feed on 320×240. Screen casting software does Not have to record sound or decompress video feed.

I prefer using open source and free software, but paying small fee of 100$ is also fine.

I like You to recommend me software I should get. In that recommendation please include for what the software is actually good for (like - high average … fps, can record opengl, can zoom while recording, clear images after compression, supports … output formats, etc.).

Im interested in learning how to make wine, on my days off i want to work at this really cool vineyard that’s about 30 mins away from my house. Is it legal for me to work for them if i tell the government that its for educational purposes as well, since im going to culinary school when i get out of high school?

If it matters, i live in pennsylvania.
