emotional) Not to mention the time, they have spent helping with the little details…
My fiance and I are not well off, so we can’t afford to give them lavish things, so what would be a nice gift…I was thinking for my dad and stepmom, a nice wine gift basket…But I am not sure..any ideas?

My fiance and I are planning our wedding and are trying to figure out how it all works. We do not have the money for a wedding planner so we are doing everything ourselves. We have found a caterer, but they do not offer drink service. We would like to have a bar with pop, beer, and wine. How would we go about finding someone to do this. Alcohol at our venue is allowed as we are having it at a relatives home. Thanks for your help!

My fiance is a ranch hand at a large vineyard and right now they are harvesting the grapes. He drives the tractors and gets hit in the face all day by vines. He doesn’t wear glasses or gloves and now his eyes are really red, swollen and burning. Can this be caused by some type of pesticide on the vines?

My fiance and I are looking into a winery wedding but the prices at some of the bigger places are astronomical. Does anyone know of any smaller, lesser known places in the Temecula (or pretty much anywhere in SoCal) that might be more economical? We looking at about 50 people to show for the ceremony and 100 at the reception. Thanks so much!

We were thinking of alternating wine bottle stoppers & candy boxes at each reception table. There are 10 people per table (so 5 of each favor). My fiance & I love wine, so we chose the bottle stoppers, however we want to offer something different for those who do not drink wine. The alternating favors would ultimately save us some money too. Would this violate any sort of etiquette rules? Would it be better to stick to just one favor?

I am getting married in Mexico and need to choose wine for the reception. We can buy a decent selection of wine down there, and I have an opportunity to take some down from here.

Okay, so how to choose the wine? Our reception meal will likely be a choice of fish or chicken. While it won’t be American-style “Mexican food” it will certainly be influenced by Mexican flavors – maybe Snapper Vera Cruz. So, it will be a little spicier and bolder than a typical chicken or fish dish. I won’t know exactly what the meal selection will be until after I can get the wine sent down there.

Please don’t offer the “Red with meat, white with chicken & fish” formula. I know sometimes a Chardonnay can overpower a meal, so I was thinking a Pinot Gris or Sauvignon Blanc, but haven’t hit on a winner. For red, maybe a Pinot Noir or Red Zin?

I have asked at a couple wine stores, but thought I’d see if I could get any good tips here. I’ve looked online, but it’s not as easy as I thought. Any ideas?
ps: one of the problems is that I’m pregnant and can’t exactly taste wine, except for an occasional sip. My fiance likes wine but just looks at me like a deer in the headlights when I try to talk about "wine pairing."

So my good friend is getting married and I am thinking of getting him a bottle of wine so he can share it with his future fiance, and my budget is 0. I’ve been looking around and I either want a Bordeaux, Merlot, or Some type of Sweet Wine. I want vintage too.
Any recommendations?

I’m just estimating. I’d like to invite about 60-75 people. and only buy beer and wine. How many bottles of wine should I buy and how many cases of beer should I get?
The reception would only be for 2-3 hours. Me and my fiance’ don’t have a lot of family at all. almost all of his family lives outside of the country and will not be attending.
thank you!

My fiance’ and I have decided on a vineyard or winery wedding, but I’ve found that it’s a bit hard to just google. I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations? Maybe you’ve attended a wedding at a particular venue, or had a spa day and noticed they did weddings or events as well… or maybe you went wine tasting and caught a peek at a classy wedding? Whatever it is, I would greatly appreciate any recommendations for a classy venue!

Thanks so much! :)

My wedding reception site has no bar, but we would like to serve wine and beer. My fiance thinks a plain keg is too "redneck". Any ideas for creating a bar with beer and wine without a bartender? Can we rent a draft machine or something like that? We are having a champagne fountain but we want to offer other options. Thanks for any input!
