I’m thinking it tastes like it’s been shipped in hot/warm shipping containers? I wasn’t sure until someone told me Costco ships the wine itself to save money.
It doesn’t taste like Costco has paid the extra money for temperature controlled shipping. Temperature controlled shipping is more expensive - but it preserves the quality of the wine. This why most winery’s use temperature controlled shipping.
Try it. Pick up a bottle of Layer Cake Syrah Australia at your local small winery; then pick up the same brand at Costco. Also try Greg Norman Estates. It tastes different. Has anyone else has noticed this?
