I keep hearing about all of the health benefits of drinking wine. However, what’s the difference between the wine and the fruit you make it with. Is there a higher concentration of antioxidants after it has been fermented? If not, then why not just eat fruit?

i started drinking wine supposedly for the health benefits: antioxidants, etc. but a friend of mine told me to avoid wine that has sulfite. what is this, exactly? what are its effects? is it worth drinking wine for health reasons if it has sulfite?

I drink a glass of Cab. or Red Zin with dinner almost daily. My wife, not being a fan of hearty tasting reds ,discovered Peter Villa’s Red Delicious Table Wine in a box. A little light for my taste,but I was curious as to whether it offers the same health benefits as drinking my one glass of Cab. or Zin a day. Not to knock the wine, If the health benefits are there I will continue to buy it for my wife and use my better wines for special events.
