We just moved into a new home, and we have wonderful friends that are looking forward to coming to our housewarming. I had never considered mentioning for anyone to bring a gift or anything in our invitation, but 2 people have now said…"you have an empty liquor cabinet and a bare wine rack… ask people to bring a bottle of their favorite liquor to put on your shelf, or a bottle of wine to put in your rack". I am not sure how I feel about that, Opinions out there on whether this would be something you would be "happy to do" if you saw it in your invitation, or would it be "tacky". (Mind you, these are all close friends and family, not just acquaintances)

My sister sent out an email to my brother and I about throwing my mom a surprise birthday party. I said that was great. I offered to do the invitations but she said she would take care of it. She then asked me if I would supply all the beer, wine, ice tea and sangria and she would supply the house and food. When I received the invitation my name was no where on it. Should I still be expected to supply that when I am not a host?

My friend and I were looking around, and we found posted to his fridge an invitation to a wine tasting titled "Naked Wine Tasting" for his parents. We were in an argument weather it was a marketing gimik, or a nude wine testing party. We went to their website, but that didn’t answer many questions. For every point for me, there was one for him. As the maid of honor, I am planning a wine and cheese bridal shower for my sister. I want it to be very classy. It will be around 7pm during the month of July.
