My husband wants to give my daughter (his step daughter) a surprise wedding gift. I bought eight cases of wine for her wedding. He wants to put personalized labels on the wine bottle with a photo of bride and groom on front and a personal message on back.
Background:
1. He did not show up for the dinner to meet the groom’s parents about two months ago.
2. He left me to walk 2 miles in the dark to my car at the wedding rehearsal. My daughter, groom and their friends gave me a ride to my car. I must add that I had locked my keys in the car and he did drive 25 miles to bring me my keys. We were at a separate table from my daughter and her friends. Soon after he arrived at the restaurant he got angry with me and left me to either walk back in the dark or get a ride.
I believe both of these times he was impaired but that is another issue.
Is it appropriate for him to do this as a surprise to the wedding wine bottles?
He wants to personalize all 8 cases of wine.

i had come across a website that you can buy mixed bottles of wine from cases that had been damaged during delivery. if the labels on the non-broken bottles were ruined in any way, the restaurants wont take them, so this company lets you buy them at a discounted price.

I have recently started having a glass of wine with dinner or right after dinner, and I definitely have a preference for sweet wines. The problem is being able to tell what is what at the wine store. One of the local vineyards here in New York has a scale on the back of their labels indicating the degree of dryness or sweetness, which I find very helpful. Unfortunately, they seem to be the exception and not the rule. It’s impractical for me to do a wine tasting and I don’t want to have to guess, spending money on a bottle only to get home and find that I don’t like the taste. I’m basically looking for sweet wines in the or less range. -And NO, I don’t want to drink wine coolers!
