Yeah! I have never been to California but need to go so bad. I’ll fly into Oakland about 1:30p on a Saturday. I’m young, fit, and don’t mind camping a lot to cut down on expenses. I just need to know the best places to see and sleep in Yosemite and wine country. Best sights and campgrounds in Yosemite, best vineyards and cheapest accomodations in Napa and Sonoma, and anything worth doing in San Fran and Oakland. Can I avoid renting a car for this little circuit? I’m thinking two nights of "luxury" in hotels (but lets keep the rates "budget") out of seven would be about right. Where’s the can’t-miss food at here, too?

I’m going to Napa next month for a little wine tasting. Any recommendations for a reasonably priced place centrally located?

I have a bottle of Napa Merryvale 1997 that was given to employees of a Silicon Valley company in 1999 as part of an IPO celebration. The front label was removed and replaced with a message relevant to the IPO, but the back label is intact. Has the wine lost its value because of the removal of the front label or does this almost 15 year old Cabernet Sauvignon have some value?

I went to Napa, had a great time, spent a fortune on wine.. and bought several bottles of wine that I tasted.

But, the bottles I tasted (in several wineries) were 04’s and 05’s.. but when I got home and looked at what I bought they were all 2007??

I tried one of the bottles and it was too sour and wasn’t ready to drink. Is this customary or was I ripped off???

We leave May 10th for Napa and Tahoe. We just want some ideas on what to do when down there. Any recommendations or ideas? Have you been there? We love wine, that is obvious but not sure of unique or new ideas for Tahoe.

Hi. I am located in SoCal (though I can get as far north as sacramento if needbe) and I was thinking I’d get a nice Napa or other wine for the rents as a holiday gift. I prefer to spend - and they prefer dessert wines or sweet white wines. Where do I go to find some and what do you all recommend.
