It’s from Charles Krug, Napa Valley. It’s not a popular wine, from what I’ve read. It’s Gamay Beaujolais. Rare, I guess.

My family have a bottle of Mount Veeder Winery - Cabernet Sauvignon - Napa Valley - Vintage 1998. I know nothing about wine, but I was curious about what types of food this kind of wine would pair good with, so I went to the net. My curiosity went on, and I wanted to see how much a bottle like this would cost? But for whatever reason, I can’t find this vintage year. Not even on the winery’s own website!

I’d like to visit San Francisco for a few days then check out Muir Woods and continue into Napa Valley for a few days of wine tasting. When’s the best time to experience the sights with decent weather?

I bought 2 wine train certificates at discount price. It’s a wine testing train with 3 courses meal at Napa Valley.
Even though we are not a wine drinker but I thought this will be fun and great surprise for our wedding anniversary.
Oh, another thing, the wedding anniversary date and her birthday is on the same day. So, this is not a regular anniversary.
It’s a combined gift, fun, surprise, combo thing. I’m a little on budget don’t have a lot to spend all out but want to make it special each year it comes around.
We’ve going to Las Vegas for past 3 yrs … watch good show, eat good food, stay in a nice hotel (thanks to priceline, craigslist, and ebay)

I’ve already booked and paid to priceline.com for flight, hotel, and car rental. That’s mean no refund back.

The thing is I lost the Wine Train certificates. I could find them and I can’t change my plan.

I don’t want to pay for another 0 for wine train but I don’t want to waste my trip going up there.

Do you have any suggestion? I will fly over on Thursday night (Oct 29) and fly back on Sat night (Oct 31).

It’s supposed to be a short surprise trip b/c I’m on budget. Now, I’m in a big black hole don’t know what to do.

We’ve been driving up to San Francisco more than 10 times in the past 4 years. So, we don’t want to go to San Francisco again.

We did camping trip from Big Sur all the way to Northern San Francisco area. We took relatives up there numerous times. So, no San Francis trip for us.
No, I haven’t look every else. I have to give it one more shot of looking everywhere. I tried to hide them from my wife but now I can’t find it.
Thanks guys, these are all good substitution. The bike ride, the picnic, and the castle sounds wonderful. Many thanks!!

I’m on a trip to California and took a Napa Valley tour. I picked up 6 bottles from various wineries and now I’m getting ready to go home and am finding out the wine shipping laws are really screwed up. I’m flying direct from SFO to the home airport and am wondering if shipping the box is better than trying to take it on the plane as checked baggage.

Hi All,

I rented a limo bus for my birthday to take me and 16 of my friends wine tasting through napa valley. i was seeing if anyone out there knew of particular wineries that are exceptionally fun, above the rest. I am going with a lively, fun group straight out of college and we are looking to have a great time so keep that in mind when giving suggestions. Also, if you know of any free places, that is always appreciated!

Thanks all!!!

CHEERS!

I’m headed up North (I live near SF) to the Napa Valley for some wine tasting with some visiting friends. Problem is- I’ve never been!

I’ve heard of a few places that you have to see when you’re up there- that great Italian castle (Castello Di Amorosa) is a must, as is the V. Sattui winery that features the great gourmet deli and outdoor pcinic area. Besides those obvious stops, what are some other good bets as far as wineries?

Other places of interest we may hit are the Coach outlet nearby (what woman doesn’t love Coach?) and maybe dinner at the Uva Trattoria in downtown Napa. If anyone can suggest a few other stops, I’d really appreciate it!

Thank you.
