I’m 35 yrs old and I can bathe myself. Its also embarrassing when she cleans my man parts and I get excited. My sister even offers. She’ll say "Mikey it’s time for your bath and don’t worry i’ll be gentle. My parents just laugh hysterically and go back to their wine

I’m meeting my girlfriend’s parents for the first time. We’ve heard you should bring a gift, but we’re not sure what.

We’re traveling from New York to Edinburgh, Scotland, so the usual gifts of wine and flowers aren’t suitable.

I don’t want to look like I’m coming on too strong, so my gf and I think it would be best to get something from us both.

What do you think would be good? No flowers or wine!

Thanks.

Okay, here’s the story…I’m too lazy to get dressed and go down the shop to get some cheap plonk. I have this ‘emergency’ bottle that I found at my parents old house 4 years ago. I have stored it well but not sure of its history before that. It is a 1997 penfolds cabernet shiraz bin 389. I googled it a few years ago and the value has jumped from like to +. The few websites that recommend when to drink it say 2010-2012. Will it peak and then go bad or lose value? I looked on the penfolds website and they do a re-corking test and signature for wine 15y.o. or over and mine is 14! My brother has offered to buy it and go to shop for well below value () What should I do? Go dry and keep it, sell it or drink it? Help!

My parents collect wine from their trips they take (japan, germany, australia, califorinia, carnival cruises, etc.)

I bought them a wine rack for xmas and would like to buy them each a bottle of wine. However I know NOTHING when it comes to wine.

What is a decent wine to give as a xmas gift, My dad is big into harleys and collects harley things also so I may get him a bottle of "v-twin zin" which is put out by harley davidson.

But any ideas of what to get for my mom? I want something different not just a plain wine.

I’m meeting his parents this weekend for the first time. I want to make a good impression with a small gift. Flowers, chocolate and wine aren’t going to work for this family. I’m drawing a blank. Any suggestions?

Okay, really quick explanation…. I live in Ohio. I’m a 19 year old woman and I go to college. When I go out, I drink beer. Why? because its free. My boyfriend lives in Australia, and when i visit him, his parents always offer me drinks with dinner or my boyfriend’s pals will buy me something when we’re out at the club, and I don’t know what to have. I feel kind of stupid and un-ladylike when this happens.
Can you give me some ideas about what kind of drinks a woman would have? favorites? what your girlfriend drinks? what wine goes well with dinner?

I’m curious how many parents at home enforce this law. In my family, we drank wine as part of our customs from the time I was a little girl, so it was always there if I wanted it. No one in our family ever got drunk or became an alcoholic, even far distant relatives. When I lived in all Freshman dorms in college, I was the only one on my hall who DIDN’T drink, because it was no big deal to me and I thought the guys who drank and barfed all over the hall were stupid and gross. Then last Christmas, while having dinner with my husband’s family in Iowa, I offered the 17 yr old nephew seated next to me some wine and his mother said "Oh no, he can’t have that, he’s not 21." I mean I know in a restaurant or bar you have to be 21 but I didn’t know people didn’t let responsible older teenagers drink on a holiday at home if they’re spending the evening at home with the family watching movies…??? This seemed ridiculous to me but I guess it’s different values.

My family is starting a vineyard/winery business. I am (lucky me) in charge of the website. I just got a call from my mother, she wants me to update the site to let people know we are now BONDED. I thought that meant we can sell wine now, but apparently I was wrong.

What does it mean to be bonded? What are the next steps? How far from selling are we?
Yes, my parents have been giving away their wine for many years now. Entering contests, winning awards.

We are going to be an actual company, and already have our LLC (Limited Licensing Company) title.

Bonding is a necessary government step, at least in Massachusetts where we are located.

I’m just curious on what people think about this….

On Christmas Day my brother & sister in law where giving their 2 1/2 year old sips of wine & beer all night long. At one point the kid chugged the rest of the moms wine and she just asked her hubby to go get her more because her son drank the rest, they didn’t even care. Then I see the dad holding him on his lap and actually offering the kid beer. It’s not like the child was tugging at the bottle or asking for it, the dad just offered it and gave it to him. On more than 1 occasion I must add. Between all the beer & wine these parents were giving him I’m surprised he was still walking. LOL

They also have 2 old kids almost 5 & 7, I’ve never seen them give them any alcohol but it wouldn’t surprise me now.

I have 2 kids & have never even thought about giving them sips. They’ve asked but I’d just explain that it’s for adults & when they grow up that’s when they can have some.

I just don’t agree….what are your thoughts?
