I am going on a dinner date with this guy and I really don’t like to drink wine. I am sure he’ll suggest to do so, and I don’t know what I should do… Should I just decline his offer like "I’m sorry, I don’t drink wine"? Or is it inacceptable to do that?

Thank you =)

Hi, I’m getting married in a few weeks. I expect a crowd at the reception that is ready to party. We’ll have 225 guests total, but my estimates are about 85 "heavy drinkers and 65 "light drinkers" (only a glass or two). It’s hard to guess the wine/beer ratio.

Right now, we’re thinking one keg of Bud Light, one of Killian’s, then maybe 4 cases of Light on deck, to be iced if needed. And probably three cases of wine. As far as mixed drinks, we’re just going with rum, vodka, and whiskey, but I don’t know how much of each yet.

Are my guesses accurate, or do I need more?

I have recently got into making wine at those "do-it-yourself" wine places, There are a few in my area. No, the wine is not as good as a bottle that you can get for .00 at the liquer store. But some of the wines are pretty good and for an average cost of .00 per bottle its a really good deal.

So when you’re saving up old bottles, what is the easiest way to remove the labels?

Some come off really easily, with very little effort. But some are very stubborn. Most of the label comes off and then you’re left with a sticky residue.

Any suggestions?

My parents collect wine from their trips they take (japan, germany, australia, califorinia, carnival cruises, etc.)

I bought them a wine rack for xmas and would like to buy them each a bottle of wine. However I know NOTHING when it comes to wine.

What is a decent wine to give as a xmas gift, My dad is big into harleys and collects harley things also so I may get him a bottle of "v-twin zin" which is put out by harley davidson.

But any ideas of what to get for my mom? I want something different not just a plain wine.

I am noticing women posting random statuses on Facebook, "in the laundry room", "against the wine rack", "on the stairs", etc. Any idea what it is about?

For those who’ve read Bill Simmons "Book of Basketball", you know where I’m going with this question.

For those who haven’t, wine is often picked by the year. For instance someone would order a 2000 bottle of Red Bordeaux with dinner, or whatever. People store their different dated bottles in their "wine cellar" and break them out for special occassions.

As an example, here’s my team.

9 MAN ROTATION (minutes included)
34 - C) 1990-91 David Robinson
34 - F) 2002-03 Tim Duncan
24 - F) 2006-07 Shane Battier
24 - G) 1997-98 Eddie Jones
34 - G) 2008-09 Chris Paul
28 - 6) 2001-02 Rasheed Wallace
24 - 7) 2002-03 Bruce Bowen
19 - 8) 2000-01 Ray Allen
19 - 9) 2006-07 Steve Nash

Who makes your wine cellar team?

I’m considering buying a new i5 or i7 macbook, but I’m wondering about the OS.

I’m not sure how far compatibility has gone so far between different OS’s but I’ve only used windows and linux so far.

Even between same companies, like windows, there have been compatibility issues, for example. bank USB protection software that won’t work, etc…

The main thing I’m worried about is compatibility with need software, I think there’s a whole slew of apple products/fixes that work around this, "bootcamp" or something.

"Wine" in linux however, is far from perfect in simulation. So I’m just wondering, the linux distributions I’ve used automatically allow you to set up dual booting so that was pretty easy.
I thought of a much better way to phrase my question:

Under what conditions should you NOT switch to the mac OS

These are ligitimate questions… People have a right to see and question about - that is what freedom of speech is about!

These are not made up, weak or lies… They come from authentic islamic sources…

Hadiths are valid sources for Islam and cannot be rejected.

These are sahih hadiths…

Sahih Muslim: "Drinks, Drinking wine and fermentation"

Narrated by Gaber bin Abdullah:

We were with the messenger of Allah, PBUH and he asked for a drink. One of his men said: "Oh Messenger of Allah, Can we offer you wine to drink?" He said Yes. He (Gaber) went out looking for the drink and came back with a cup of wine. The messenger (Peace Be Upon him) asked, “Have you covered it with a twig in a transverse manner” He (Gaber) said, “Yes” and he (Muhammad) drank.

Sahih Muslim - Hadith #3753

These narrations are authentic and can be viewed on one of the official websites of Saudi Arabia. Many of the more embarrassing narrations have been omitted from the translated ahadith collections, thus can only be found in the original Arabic. In this case the entire section of hadith "Drinking wine and fermenting the container" has been omitted from English hadith collections.

He who obeys the Messenger, obeys Allah: But if any turn away, We have not sent thee to watch over their (evil deeds).

These are sahih hadiths in Arabic that have been translated and verified by multiple native speakers of the Arabic language, they are not false.
@Xplain, no I have studied the Qu’ran - perhaps you should too!
