I know a lot of red wines go bad and white absolutely wont save for more than a couple years. I want to start a wine cellar I can pass down through the years. I want to stay around the fifty dollar mark on most red wines. I wouldn’t be against an expensive bottle here and there, but don’t want to go broke.
Thank you for your answers
I have been to company parties where the owner of the company will serve two hundred dollar bottles of wine. Wow, I just don’t have that kind of money, but they are great wines. I wish I could afford them. maybe I am better off drinking beer. lol. I love my job, I love my job, I love my job…
I’m looking to stock my wine rack. Since i’m in need of several bottles, I was looking to not spend a fortune…just some relatively inexpensive wines, like under /bottle. Does anyone have some recommendations? Preferably red wines. Thanks!
I am fairly new to wine and bought a wine rack and want to start my collection of it for special occasions or just for the hard day at work kinda thing. I am into Red Wines more then White although im not rich!! What would you suggest for a good tasting Red Wine to always keep around??? I do not like REALLY dry wines I had bought a cheap bottle of "Fat Bastard" and it was EXTREAMLY dry and had to be one of the worst ones ive ever had. Thank you for your help!
If so, which of all the red wines category can or best chilled to bring out the aromas and flavors?
What causes the low temp or room temp to bring out the flavors of red wines?
Is there a difference in aroma and taste if decanted after a brief chill?
What about Spanish wine from Spain?
What makes them special compared to other wine producing countries?
What is the best way to serve Spanish wine?
My fiancĂ© bought a house over 4 years ago and there were about 10 bottles of wine left in the cellar from the previous owners. Most are red wines with maybe 2 white wines. The years range from 1981-1994 and from what we can see they are just house wines and nothing fancy (the previous owners put "house" labels on the bottles). I’ve tried finding these wines on the internet but had no luck as of yet.
Neither of us knows a thing about wine, but had heard that most wines over 12 years really aren’t good any more. What is the worst that could happen from drinking these old wines? I was assuming they could just taste really bad but probably would not make you ill. Am I correct in that assumption?
I live in the Mosel region of Germany and love the local white auslese wines, how do I find a similar taste from red wines?
I have a few people that have turned up unexpected, but have only a bottle of red opened about two weeks (at most) ago to offer. I usually keep red wines that have been opened for cooking, but would it be advisable to pour for a drink? Jacob’s Creek Grenache Shiraz it is. I understand flavor will be altered, but is it safe to drink as it has been sealed with a screw top, but at room temperature. Many thanks in advance.
I’m looking into being part of a wine club offering 4 bottles a month. I prefer red wines but a red white combo option is nice. Are there any clubs that you can recommend that offer what I want?
