I’m very much a wine novice, thus I’m looking for a little guidance until I get more comfortable with my wine palate. So, does anyone have vineyards, years, places, brands you can recommend me?
If you know good wine for all types, that’s great, but if you only know one type of wine, I’d still love your to hear your recommendation on that wine.
I know this is a vague question, but basically what I’m asking is for you tell me some of your favorites so that I have a good place to start. I prefer reds, buy whites are great, too.
And finally, price is a concern. So obviously recommend whatever you think is good, regardless of price, but I’d be especially interested in a wine that’s good and also cheap.
Thanks so much.

My wife and I have a day and a half to spend in the Santa Barbara Valley for some wine tasting. We are not at all familiar with the area or the wines but are adventurous and willing to explore. When it comes to the wine, we prefer to drink mostly reds. Here are a few of our favorite Napa wines to possibly help point us in the right direction for Santa Barbara: Peju, White Hall Lane, Cakebread Cellars, Beringer, and Hall. Any tips are welcome and appreciated!
Thanks in advance,
Ryan
Thanks for those pointers, I had already been to both of the two recommended sites and was looking for some personal favorites for recommendations.
Thanks again!

What brand name wine would you recommend for e.g., a casual 4 oz. drink twice or thrice a week, as a reward for a hard day done, or to offer to friends who come over? I am looking at a - range here. No white or red wine. I would like some kind of fruit-y type of wine. A little tart to it is ok, but not overtly so. Help?
I would have liked to hear from smitf about which reds and whites that have a nice fruity finish. Feel free to email me with recommendations!

Hullo veg*ns!
I’m going to host a wine tasting party in a couple of weeks and I need some ideas for what to serve. My friends are actually going to bring their fave wines, so I won’t know specifically what types of reds or whites they’re bringing. I just need some munchy/finger food ideas that pair well with each broad category.
I’m keeping it all vegan, so what could I offer (besides fruit and hummus with crackers - lol)?
Thanks for the input and have a fabulous, cruelty-free day!
BTW: I’m pretty well-versed in the kitchen, so I want to make quite a few of the dishes as opposed to buying them.

I’m thinking about getting wine of the month club for a friends birthday. It ships you 2 bottles of wine each month for three months. I am looking for some reviews on whether people would recommend it or not. I was planning on doing two reds, he prefers red over white. Any reviews would be greatly appreciated!

I’m a novice wine drinker. I’ve found that I like Merlot’s the best because, in my limited experience, they’re the least sweet. I really like Ecco Domani, Mezzacorona, and Cellar No. 8 (I think that’s a Berringer wine, but I’m not sure). I would love some suggestions of good merlots in various price ranges and some other less sweet reds.
An under , under , and under 0 suggestion would be most appreciated. As well as which regions are known to have better reds, if certain years are better than others, or any other tips that a novice would benefit from.

I have a couple bottles of different styles of wine (mostly reds) from France, Italy, and Napa Valley which are at least 20-30 years old and have been kept in great condition, but I don’t want to have to take them somewhere to get a estimated worth. Does anyone know of a website where I could get a estimate or even a good book of wine listings?

I need some help finding a wine that I’ll like. I know very little about wine and am, therefore, having trouble finding one. There are a few wines that I really enjoy, but they’re hard to find online and in my local liquor stores. I’m trying to find something a little more accessible. Here are my favorite wines:
Stella Rosa Il Conte D’Alba: its a reds blend wine made in California. Is sweet and fruity
Moscato Rubino: red muscat that is very sweet and fruity.
Alba Vineyards blueberry: fruit wine that is very sweet.
My main thing is that I’m not a true red wine drinker because I only like the sweet red wine. I can’t stand the bitter taste in most red wines. I DON’T like port, sherry, white zinfandel, ice wines, or any other white wines. Please only suggest really sweet red wines. If possible name a specific wine, not just a variety.

I like reds like Cabs, Merlot, and Pinot Noir. I haven’t tried too many others so offer me some other reds that I may not have heard of.
