Can I ship one bottle of liquor through the US Mail to another location in the U.S.? The information from the USPS is very vague.

I have a few bottles I want to send to my sister in law in Seattle. How is best to pack it, in it’s original shipping box? It’s only six bottles and I don’t want the box to be lopsidded. Any suggestions?
It is not illegial to ship wine through the mail if you have paid the appropriate state taxes from the state of origin and the state where it shall be recieved, which I have, and ship the receipt as such with the wine.

P.S. I’ve been a liquor store manager for over five years.
Also I’m not planning on sending it through USPS but UPS. USPS won’t ship it but UPS will.

Hi,

I need to ship about 7 bottles of wine to a friend in North Carolina.

Is it legal to do it? I read a lot of stuff on the web, but they all pertain to wineries, and wine vendors. But I’m sending it in my personal capacity. Where do I get the permit to send wine to North Carolina?

Would you use USPS for this?

Thanks in advance.

I want to send a gift parcel to my mum-in-law in England. I always send her parcels via USPS, but the information they provide as far as what is legal and what isn't is very vague. Has anyone out there done this before? If so, any advice as to how to go about getting it to her it without any issues?
