I want to make my girlfriend a little dinner, but we both live in the res halls at our school and my RA is pretty anal about alcohol. Don’t get me wrong, I love wines, but you know how it is. Also, I’m not even sure if my girlfriend likes wine, what’s a nice alternative to have in case we can’t have it at her place or she doesn’t like wine?

just curious, i have been seeing a lot about wine. Like in France that is their main drink of choice, and they seem to be advertised as healthier. If that is that case, if someone who still liked to have fun, could they be making a bit of a healthier and cheaper choice? or is it neither? or just one or the other?

I don’t know anything about wines. But I’m going out with somebody to dinner. And I don’t want to sound like an idiot when it is time to order wine. So what’s like a regular wine I can order, that will make me sound regular like I know what I’m talking about. And won’t cause the waiter to ask me any additional follow up questions that will expose the fact that I have no idea what I’m doing?

Maybe give me more than 1 option just in case

My boyfriend and I want to go wine tasting somewhere beautiful and romantic. I want to go somewhere with one of those old stone mansions with a gorgeous vineyard. Any suggestions for sonoma hwy or even st helena maybe? Thank you!

Mark, I’ve been to many Catholic parishes and not a single one offered wine to the lay people.
Thanks for all the answers so far, I really appreciate your help.

The parishes I’ve been to are in Ontario, Canada, as that is where I live. The parish I go to now is quite large, and there are two Priests and two other people handing out the wafers.

I can understand not wanting to spread disease, but I mean… can’t they dip the wafer in the cup?

I’ve found a wonderful wild grape growing at the property we just bought! It has a wonderfully full and sweet flavor and I’d like to try my hand a growing a few rows of vines and trying my hand at wine making.

I’m hoping to find some advice and maybe some ideas or direction about how to begin and harvest a successful crop, and some beginners advice on making wine.

what kind of cheese do you like with your wine?

Like by the case or something? Will it be a better value (like will they typically give you a little discount or something)?

I love this wine (this is the only picture I could find online):

It’s not expensive, but I really do love it, so I was wondering if it would be worthwhile to purchase a case instead of a bottle at a time.

My husband drank two bottles of wine last night and I’m not giving him the keys tomorrow until I know how long before it’s out of his system enough for him to drive and not be over the limit. The wine is homemade so there isn’t a label. Thanks!

We were moving across the country in May and, unexpectedly, all of our things were dropped from a climate-controlled semi into storage locker with no climate controls for 3 months. There were over 30 days of high heat and humidity (90+ degrees F) during that time, doubtless much hotter in the storage locker.

We had 10 cases of wine. At the "low" end were Shafer bottles that we had 3 years into a 5 year maturation period. At the high end were 10-20 year old Gaja Barbarescos. In between we had Rieslings from the best German providers, Cabs from the best Napa vineyards, and some other assorted + wines. Additionally we had in there some fine Scotches that I assume are fine.

We assume the wine is all destroyed but I am kind of hoping beyond hope that some of it might be reclaimable. Thanks in advance.
