my grandpa loves to brew wine, and of coarse drink it. he loves to be able to do it himself, and i would really like to build an amazing wine cellar for him, but stay within a good budget so i can seem efficient. we are installing the wine cellar in the corner of a 12′ ceiling garage. i am an electrician and very handy with everything already so i will be doing all the work.
i think that i should put in some laddice and surround the corner like a semi room, or changing room would be like in a clothing store. i am also going to hang a chandelier and some high hats with eye balls on them. i will also be portioning off this portion of the garage with a pergo floor. the texture will be : hard wood wide plank medium dark tones.
is there anything that i am missing or should add or to be extra nifty with?

I am thinking about buying a portable wine cellar to store the wines my friends gave me. I know red and white wines needs to be in different tempature for storage but i am not sure if I can place them into the same wine cellar? I see there are dual temperature wine cellar but they stores like 40 to 100 bottles ! I am not a big drinker and don’t wanna spend that kinda money. anyone has any info or knows if I can just get one of those 6 to 9 bottles wine cellar and have both white and red wine in it together in the same tempature? I was looking through my dads wine cellar today when i stubmled upon his Pétrus collection. knowing that it is one of the most prestigous wines ever i glanced at the label (1927)!!!! how much is this even worth!

I am creating a wine bar/restaurant concept and I have some ideas but I wanted to know what things I can add or do to differentiate it with other places.
The bar is mainly focus on offering a wide variety of wine (good quality) with some dishes complementing the different wines offered. Its going to try have a wine cellar ambience and stuff.

I bought it a two months ago and kept it in my room since I don’t have a wine cellar. It’s pretty hot where I live here; the average temp is 86 degrees and we turn on the AC only every so often.
This is a cabernet, 2006, nothing too fancy but not cheap (mid-range).
Will it go bad? Or will most not notice a difference in taste?

I am trying to stock my wine cellar and am interested in hearing any recommendations.
I particularly like red wine, especially australian and south american blends. One of my favorites is Penfolds Cabernet Shiraz.
I am not fundamentally opposed to whites. I am fond of Muscato (sp?) and Pinot Grigio.
I am trying to keep the price under so that i can buy a good quantity of wine. Willing to spend more for a bottle that can’t be missed.
