Alright, I finally decided to get myself a small, private wine cellar. I never bought anything like this. What must I consider when looking for the best wine cellars? 8 bottles capacity would be enough and I pefer simple design.

Hello.

I love wine. When I was 13, i used to find these purple berries and I would crush them and put them in bottles in hopes that they would turn into wine. The berries were probably poisonous. But anyways, I never got to see if it was wine because it froze when I had them in the garage. Also, another bottle exploded all over my room because the cork shot off of it one day.

So, you know how they have all those wine cellars (such as this http://wine-storage.biz/wine_storage/images/wine-cellar-database.jpg) where all the bottles are put on the racks?? Are these bottles fermenting?? Or do they never let them ferment in the glass bottle?

Can someone give me tips on how I can make my own wine in a traditional style without getting too much into the mass production and bucket using methods (that are like cheating) that people use when they buy like a kit or something?

just wondering as I believe we may be headed for another one. Personally, I am struggling..and I see some very rich people around me that seem not to have a care in the world..personal chefs, expensive cars, trips abroad ,wine cellars etc…did the great depression affect people with this type of lifestyle ( with whatever types of excesses were common back then ), and how do we know how many of them were affected?
In what ways were they affected ..any notable examples?

I have just received a white bordeaux wine. I would like to let it age for a couple of years. I don’t have any special wine cellars or refrigerators so i’m using my normal fridge. I have also let it on its side so the cork is moist.

My question: is it ok for it to be in a normal refrigerator like that? (It is at 43 degrees F). Also will the low humidity really affect it? Also there is an air bubble in the wine bottle, is that normal or is that bad?

(United States)
I like sweet wines.
Last night I had an excellent wine from a Pennsylvania winery, Stone Villa Wine Cellars, Pink Catawba, 2006. I very much enjoyed it. I like to try wines from small, domestic wineries–especially in and around Western Pennsylvania–but I am not limited to such. Any recommendations?

Hello, I want to give a gift to a friend of mine who has a wine cellar. He is very proud of it. Are there any good gifts to give people with wine cellars or that are wine enthusiasts?

My friend said that he has obtained, out of season, what he believes to be a pipe of Amontillado (about 130 gallons), a particularly rare and valuable sherry wine. He isn’t sure, however, and wants mine expert opinion on the subject. He invited me to his wine cellars. I don’t know if I should go. It’s Carnival, and I’d prefer to have fun here; on the other hand, the wine is really valuable, rare and worth tasting. For the love of God, what should I do?

I always thought it was cool to have old wines. After all you see these big dusty wine cellars in all the old movies. For years I’ve kept a small wine rack around with a few different kinds of wine that I just picked out at random. ( I think it makes my appartment look groovy. ) However, I am just a pretender, I don’t really know much about wine. Now all of a sudden I hear that wine needs to be used soon after purchase or it’ll go bad. What’s up with that? Is this a total falsehood or is it only certain types that get better with age?
