I want to play windows games on a mac but I don’t know how to get parallel or wine software for mac and also do I need to buy a windows cd to install windows on mac? I am confused between bootcamp, parallel and wine Software which one better for mac and how do i install them? if i go to a computer shop and ask them to install windows on my macbook pro how much is it going to cost?
this is what i like to do:
- im into c++/java programming
- i use alot of games/wine software
- i want to get around the computer fast
- i want the OS to be stable. no crashing on wine programs
my computer is an hp pavilion p6130y with an upgraded graphics card (ATI Radeon HD 5770)

I installed Ubuntu a month ago. Everything works fine, my display settings, media players, compiz, etc… they all work great. I just have a hard time getting used to it’s GUI, and I haven’t tried to run real commercial games(such as call of duty 4) on it which I’ve heard is possible using wine(software).
How long did it take for you to get used to it’s GUI after switching from Windows / Mac OS ?
I am looking for a free Wine software for Linux, something that I can put onto a cd and download it onto my boyfriends computer so he can play his games, any links?
i have install the wine,software but its not functioning..can i have any idea…
I downloaded wine on Fedora Linux and I dont know how to use it. Did I download it right? I downloaded it off softpedia. When i stick a cd on the laptop with linux it wont read the windows program. The wine software doesent have and auto run or anytihg. Help!
I try to install wine software from Ubuntu, but it didn't works. Maybe I need a correct way of doing it. Does anyone know a better way?

Wine seems to be as unreliable as actually using Windows. I tried Applications>Wine>Remove Wine Software and went through the uninstaller dialogs, but a few things remain. I need to get rid of iTunes and a few other things so that I can install an older version of the same stuff that I know works.
