I want to do a wine and cheese pairing; which 3 cheeses would pair best together - Gruyere, Gouda, Brick, Drunken Goat, Robiola Bosina. And what order would they be placed in on the board. What wines would go best with them.

Im currently learning about wine. I have a book that goes from everything about making it, the grapes from different regions, tasting, studying the bottle and pairings but im still confused about some things. It offers a sort of grid for an example wine of when its at its peak, like in 10 years. But how do you know which wines are able to age and which are not and when its ready to drink. Its not like the bottle says drink in 5 years. I have a bottle - Clover Hill Vineyards & Winery Concord- that’s really sweet red and served chilled and the bottle says consume within 1 year. But then I picked up a bottle of Sutter Home Sweet Red California Sweet Red wine 2009 This is the first bottle i’ve bought that has a year on it, does that mean its already been bottle aged for awhile and should be drunk right away. will it be bad if i wait till the end of summer? and for when i buy bottles later that have different years how do i know when to lay them down and when to drink them. Please help I really want to learn about wine.

If a blind person told me that they’d just came back from the wine cellar, I’d know something was up. Why didn’t Vicki, JT or Victor think it was strange for a blind man to be wandering around a wine cellar? That’s almost like a deaf person going to the opera.
Tiana, he’s not blind, he’s just injecting something into his eyes to mess up his vision, they showed that a few weeks ago.
emmy, how do you propose that a blind man pick out a wine? do you think victor went as far as to put braille labels on all of the wines? no. of course blind people drink wine, what i’m saying is he (as a blind man) would have no way of picking out a good wine. that’s why its so particular. jt is a private detective, if anyone picked up on that, he should have.

Ok, I have to come up with a business plan for one of my management classes. I just asked a question on what a good name would be for a beer/wine store…

However, I am thinking about doing a specialty wine store only that would sell imported wines from around the world. In my plan, I need to include ways that would make my store competitive against the other local plain beer/wine stores. My questions are:

1.) Do you think that a specialty wine store would make a good business?

2.) Do you have any ideas of something else that the store could feature to make it unique? Anything else I could sell or offer in the store that would make it attractive and different?
You are brilliant! Thank you! :)

Hi,
I live in a one bedroom apartment alone and do not have many guests. When people do come over, it seems like I am not a very good host. For example, I hardly have any food or snacks to offer them becasue I eat out a lot. It is embaressing. How can I make my home more inviting? What kinds of food and drinks should I always have available? What about alcoholic drinks/wines since I don’t drink that often? Are there any good books on how to be more hospitable?

I would like to learn to ‘appreciate" a variety of wines and just recently acquired a taste for the zinfandel’s. What advice can you offer?

I believe it holds 4 bottles of wine. I would certainly like to buy a few bottles, however I know absolutely nothing about wines other than the fact that white zinfandel gives me a terrible headache.

I would like to get a few good brands as many of my friends love wine - and I would eventually like to serve it.
I don’t want to get cheapo brands (that will show my ignorance of wine) but I am also on a budget and can’t get majorly expensive wines that are going to break the bank.

Can anyone suggest some good tasting, reasonably priced wines that I can start my collection with?

We love certain vineyards, but cannot get their wine at our location. We would like to order a box of twelve, but would like an assortment of wines. We have been told that when you order wine from a producer, you can only order a box of the same type. Is this true?
