What is a good hostess gift for a wine and cheese party?
I don't know the people very well. When I go to parties, I usually give wine as a hostess gift, but is that redundant in this case?

I don't think so! I've brought it wine to a wine party before because I thought it would help replenish the host's stores, if you will. If that's bad manners, it'll be news to me.
Other, standard hostess gifts are okay too: a small box of chocolates, a really nice soy candle, or flowers…
Wine, flowers or candy are always customary.
How about cute cocktail napkins or spreaders? If you do bring wine, technically speaking, the etiquette is not to open your bottle at the time (in case they don't like it or it is bad, it won't hurt your feelings).
You can't go wrong with candles.
what about a really pretty fancy glass wine cork…they add a nice touch to wine bottles and can allways be used.
Let's see… maybe some wine or cheese?
A corkscrew, cheeseknife and cheese board would be nice. or
How about a nice basket of different kinds of little foods, like cookies and crackers etc. or a small fruit basket.
….or if around the holidays a poinsetta or other wintery plant.
Bring a pretty holiday plant.
A nice cookie tray filled with holiday decorated cookies is always nice too because she can share it either with her guests or with her family.
There are some great personalized napkin sets you can get at alot of places now. They come with napkins, rings for wine glasses, etc….
A nice reed diffuser set is also a nice classy gift.
a holiday centerpiece would be very nice,,a nice cheese tray,/w slicer, gift basket ,salami's,cheeses, nuts, crackers, fruit basket, ect… I'd love any of those !!!!!!!!!
You can't go wrong with a fruit basket - either ready-made, or do-it-yourself, so long as the fruit is attractive, the basket is new, and the ribbon is tied in a pretty bow.
When I'm unsure, I always go for a box of milk chocolate Lindor Truffles.
a bottle chiller it is like a coozie for a wine bottle they sell them with bottle openers and corks attached i would check the william and sanoma near you.
Wine is still a good option, so long as it is not a cheap bottle. Something middle of the range is quite acceptable.
The alternative is a frosted Llama, with chocolate sprinkles on it's nether regions.
posh biscuits for cheese
In this case, wine would be good………for sure they would have an extra bottle for the occasion.
