What is a good wine to bring to Christmas Party as a gift?
I am not a wine drinker but the host of the Christmas Party is. What is a good bottle of wine that is not too expensive to bring as a hostess gift?

A nice Merlot is always good and there’s a variety of prices you can choose from.
A medium price Merlot is Kendall Jackson.
The kind of wine that I would take to a party as a gift is White Zinfindel, preferable from California. I have found that this kind if more mellow and goes down nice.
Just my opinion:

a red Zinfandel. Not too dry, not too sweet. Rich, dark and yummy!
Have fun at your party!
A good gift would be Asti Spumanti from Italy. It’s not very expensive and it is more like a champagne. They should sell it at your local grocery store. i think you and your host will like it a lot.
Santa Margherita Pinot Grigio
I usually take a California wine like a Gallo Merlot or something…not too expensive and not frowned at by any means…
If you want a good wine that is not too expensive take a look at some of the Chilean wines available now…
Champagne or champagne-style at Christmas is always a good choice. Make sure it is chilled when you arrive, so it can either be consumed at the party or not, at the hostess discretion.
With wine, you tend to get what you pay for; but do go to a specialist wine shop and ask the staff. They are generally reasonably informed and eager to get you a good deal [they want you to come again].
Pinot Noir….delicious
