What is involved in buying wine by the case?
I’m thinking of buying my wife a case of wine as a present. I’m somewhat knowledgeable about wine, but haven’t ever bought it by the case before. Is this something my local liquor store could order for me? Is it possible to buy a mixed case? If so, would I get to choose what kinds?
With regard to cost, how much would it cost on average (in US dollars)? Is it cheaper to buy by the case, or not really?
And lastly, how many bottles are in a case?
Thanks.

Just money and a request would be involved. You can’t normally buy a case of mixed wine. The manufacturer generally puts 12 bottles of the same type of wine in a case. If you wanted a mixture you would probably be paying the shelf price per bottle. In British Columbia where I live, the Government liquor stores don’t give you a break on quantity purchases, however, some of the privately owned beer and wine stores will. But their prices are usually higher to start with. In the USA I noticed that private liquor stores offer deals and have sales on featured items. As for price, that depends on the quality of the wine. Almost impossible to give an exact answer on that point.
4 to 12 Bottles a case Usely cheaper by the case too.
Look In ther Phone Book For a Winery And You Can Order all diffrent kinds Also go to wine club .com
There are 12 bottles in a case. A liquor store will probably sell it to you by the case, but may not have a discount when you do so. I would recommend buying at a winery or online, that way it would be MUCH cheaper for you. But a larger liquor store may be able to order you something, you just might want to check it out.
It is possible to buy a mixed case - I do it all the time! Usually it’s anywhere from $100 to $180 depending, of course, on the type of wine you buy. That’s what mine usually cost, which includes a discount of 10-25% off. & I usually get mine through a winery.
good luck!
there are 12, 750ml bottles of wine in one case. You might be able to get a discount if you buy a full case. You would have to ask the store you are buying from if they offer discounts like that.
A case of 2 buck check at TJ’s for example is $25 give or take. a case of my fave wine Prisoner from Napa is $408. Just depends on what you are buying.
generally a case refers to 12 bottles of the same thing. not a mixed case of different wines. as far as what to chose, whatever your wife likes would be the best starting point.
